 Pidgin 2.2.4, Ubuntu 2.4.2, GNOME 2.22.2

 Pidgin is running in the backgound, minimized to system tray. On incoming
 messages, no sound is played. A minimized flasing window entry appears in
 the taskbar, but without sound. I have activated "Preferences > Sounds >
 Sounds when conversation has focus" and set "Sounds activated" on
 "Always". I tried every combination of sound settings, the result remains
 the same: no message sound if pidgin is minimized. Which is annoying,
 because I won't notice incoming messages when afk.

 However, sound _is_ played, when chat window is activated (focussed or
 minimized to task bar). Any other sounds (user is online etc) seem to work
 fine as well with minimized pidgin.
