 On a related note, I only get the message "(There was an error receiving
 this message.  Either you and XXX have different encodings selected, or
 XXX has a buggy client.)" without any information about the actual message
 that was sent. May I humbly suggest that you include the message in the
 error, even if some characters might be missing? This would enable us to
 at least talk to each other.

 I also did not find any option for selecting an encoding in Pidgin. Where
 is it?
