Hello.
I have a yahoo messenger account that holds more than 300 contact/friends.
Once i've updated pidgin (i guess it was 2.3.x at the time that problem
occured), i noticed that i lost about 50 contacts in one particular group
(called "Work" which alfabetically is the last group in my list). What was
strange was that the list of user i lost was starting with the letter "d"
- so to be more specific, it seemed that every contact in that group that
was starting (the id) with d,e,f,g,...w,x,z was deleted.
At the time, i belived it was a problem with me, since i got a new laptop
and it was very sensitive the touchpad. I didn't had time to dig into it
anyway but today , after i updated the version of pidgin i use to 2.4.0 ,
i noticed something strange into my blist.xml . It seems that the missing
accounts was tagged as blocked in the account i was used.
Since it was alfabetically , i tried to remove some contacts from a
different group, to see what happens.
Ofcourse some of the "missing contacts" appeared.
So it seems there is somewhere a limit of the ids in the list, and the
rest gets blocked automatically (i wonder why?).
I tried to findout more clear what is the exact number i can have and it
seems what is over 286 gets blocked.
Thanks,
Keep up the good work.
PS: I will classify it as an Yahoo! protocol problem, but i cannot say
what it happens if i add a second account (for example on different
protocol) - so i am not sure if this limit applies to an account or to all
ids in the list.
