 The 2.3.1 animated typing icon in the upper-right corner was much more
 useful than the in-line notification, especially since it showed typing-
 pauses in an eye-catching, graphical way. Its corner placement was also
 nice for positioning windows in front of each other, to save screen-space
 and still be able to see at a glance which one might be in the process of
 responding. That's much harder to notice when it's a line of text in the
 actual window.

 Please bring back the typing icon, either alone or in conjunction with the
 new "<name> is typing" line in the message window, or put an option in the
 preferences to be able to choose one or the other, or both. I'm seriously
 considering reinstalling and sticking with 2.3.1 for the old indicator
 alone.
