 In the past if pidgin was already running, clicking on the pidgin shortcut
 brought up the main window.  Now when clicking on the shortcut I get "An
 instance of Pidgin is already running"

 Why did this behavior change?  Did the old behavior of launching the
 pidgin main window when starting the executable when pidgin was already
 running cause a problem?

 I use this functionality frequently because often my pidgin icon
 disappears from my taskbar.  In the past I just clicked on my shortcut
 which brought up the main window, but now when the taskbar icon disappears
 I have to ctrl + alt + del and close the process, then restart pidgin.
