 The latest release of Pidgin, version 2.4.0, changes the typing indicator
 from an animation to text and moves it into the conversation window. This
 is a good change, because most other IM clients (in my experience) use
 text for such indications.

 However, what bugs me is the fact that when the other person starts
 typing, the entire conversation is bumped up a line by the notification.
 There should be a reserved space for the notification text (see Gmail's
 Chat function for an example) that does not affect the conversation's
 scroll position.
