 in fact i'm german and so i'm using these special german characters ä, ü,
 ö and ß often. but since i updated to p2.4.0 they seemed to be replaced by
 |, d, v
 when i RECEIVE messages from icq-users (sending those chars works)!
 (i x-tested it on msn and it seems to work correctly).
 so i re-installed p2.3.1 hoping that it would help. but nada. so i think
 it may be a problem with gtk+, which was updated as well while installing
 p2.4.0 the other day.
 anyone discovering the same problems? any workarounds?

 btw: i'm using windows xp home.
