 Of course it knows exactly how much room you need, because you're
 ''actually typing into it''. ''You'' typically don't know before you start
 your message if it will take up 4 or 5 lines, but Pidgin 2.4.0 will
 realize when you need that fifth line and make the adjustment at the exact
 keystroke.

 If you disagree that Pidgin knows exactly how much space you need (which
 you seemingly do), you must think that for some reason it requires empty,
 blank lines of whitespace. Why?
