#5096: Switching status to "Available" doesn't always work

This bug has been present for several versions. Currently running 2.3.1
 under Windows XP Home SP2.

When I click the dropdown to choose a status other than "Available", that
away status is set and stays set. However, when I return and wish to set
my status to "Available", choosing "Available" from the status dropdown
list doesn't always result in the status being changed.

A little keyboard icon will appear along with the text "Available", and
the word, "typing", and then the status will revert to whatever "away"
 status I had previously set.

This problem happens most often if I switch focus to another application,
or move the mouse while Pidgin is in this "typing" mode for several
seconds. If I select "Available" and don't do anything (not even moving
the mouse), it will correctly switch to "Available" most of the time, but
 not all of the time.

This bug is annoying as it results in my status remaining "away" even
though I've specifically set it to "available" and moved on with whatever
work I need to be doing.
