 I rebuilt pidgin using the following configure line:

 {{{./configure --prefix=/usr/nekoware --disable-perl --disable-plugins
 --enable-debug}}}

 Running the resulting binary inside gdb crashed; running "bt full" gave an
 apparent infinite loop of these messages:

 {{{#2050 0x006ce0b8 in gtk_widget_get_type () from
 /usr/nekoware/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.1
 No symbol table info available.}}}

 I quit displaying after 2500 lines. I suppose that's enough.
