 I'm writing this ticket is response do the closed ticket #1736. In Gadu-
 Gadu especially the use of many icons is a norm, and while they are not
 necessary, they are common. Therefore I propose a rather simple solution
 for this problem.

 The GIF animation in emoticons should be stopped in the smileys menu. The
 animation ''could'' be played only when there is a mouse over an image.
 Alternatively the animation can be disabled entirely, as the delay is a
 major usability problem. For my P3 at 1,13GHz (Debian or Windows 2000) it
 takes up to 5 seconds to load the emoticons, which is unacceptable. This
 feature could be either automatic (whenever there are say over 20 animated
 smileys), or set as an option in smileys' preferences.
