#5149: XMPP "Not Authorized" when trying to login using 2.4.0 on Windows

I upgraded from Pidgin 2.3.1 to 2.4.0 yesterday, but could no longer
connect to our office Jabber server.

We authenticate over TLS on a nonstandard port, so I was guessing that
somehow the port was wrong, but I verified that was correct.
Additionally, I tried manually specifying the connect server, but that
 wasn't the issue.

I get a "Not Authorized" message. I at least narrowed it down to the fact
that none of my TLS setting changed. With Psi and older versions of
Pidgin/Gaim I'm still able to connect, but not with this recent set of
changes. That rules out the server "forgetting me" between upgrades.

In the couple of years that I've been using Pidgin/Gaim, I've had no
problems connecting to our office server. I'm not exactly used to
existing functionality breaking on an upgrade.

To fix it, I had to downgrade to 2.3.1.

Is it something I'm doing? Is there some new setting that was added that I
 have to change?
