 This change was actually the first thing I noticed and vocally complained
 about after installing/using 4.2.0.  I've been following this ticket,
 optimistically waiting to see that the old behavior would be restored or
 put on the roadmap for the next version.  But the response from the
 developers has me scratching my head, this makes no sense... where does
 this tyrant like attitude come from - why not just put the resize option
 back?  It's what your users want.  Isn't that the point, to delight your
 *users*?  Kinda makes you wonder where this mandate comes from.  But
 anyhow, the sentiment in this thread just leaves a bad taste.  Having been
 a gaim user for many years (and for many reasons) and like many others I
 too created an account simply to express how crappy this new functionality
 is, express my disappointment in the developers' attitude, and to say I'm
 looking elsewhere to other clients as a replacement going forward.
