 You need to find out whether you can connect to those hosts on those
 ports. When you tried running telnet did the command prompt (you did run
 it from a command prompt, yes?) report something like "'telnet' is not
 recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch
 file." or did it just not seem to do anything for a little while? The
 former means it doesn't exist, the latter means it does and is trying to
 connect. If it does exist run the command and leave it alone, if the
 screen blanks or you see garbage being printed (or if you get dumped back
 to the command prompt when you try typing) then you are able to connect,
 if on the other hand you get an error telling you you can't connect to
 that host on that port then your network is the problem. Without more
 information there isn't much we can do.
