Comment:

 I meant compress the logs into one large zip file (for example), copy that
 single zip file across, and then extract the logs in the backup location,
 but that doesn't matter.

 As I said already I don't believe automatic deleting of logs is a feature
 pidgin should have, I would be perfectly happy if there was no way at all
 in pidgin (anywhere) to have it delete anything. A cron job or scheduled
 task, or a pidgin plugin (if you really need this to be in pidgin) is a
 much better way to handle cleaning of this sort.

 I'm leaving this open in case someone disagrees with me, but I really
 don't believe this belongs in pidgin. I'm setting this to the patches
 welcome milestone because we don't have a plugin welcome one to use
 instead.
