Comment (by deryni):

 Then close the smiley dialog if the tab it belongs to goes away, or if the
 conversation window loses focus. Breaking someone's ability to switch tabs
 or interact with pidgin entirel simply because they have the smiley dialog
 open is not an acceptable solution. A separate ticket with the feature
 request to close the smiley dialog when it no longer applies is fine.
