 Just as the title describes... I've noticed it so far with the auto-away
 feature.

 Steps to reproduce:
 1) Close a persistent chat.
 2) Let Pidgin automatically set the status to away (as said before, I'm
 not sure if it also happens when you manually set the status to away).
 3) Wake Pidgin up after that so it changes your status back to what it
 was.
 4) See the persistent chat windows you closed before automatically opening
 up again.
