 Actually no, the fact that pidgin has bugs in how it syncs the server-side
 buddy list (on some protocols) is not a reason to introduce a feature
 which is impossible to sync, it is in fact a reason to fix the existing
 behaviour so that pidgin syncs correctly. What protocols are you seeing
 this problem on? There were known issues with Myspace buddies not storing
 the group they are in correctly (which should be fixed now, though other
 buddy list issues still exist), XMPP servers with shared roster groups do
 not allow local buddy entry moving (which will cause more-or-less
 confusing output depending on what they do and don't allow exactly).
