 As the MomentIM picture I provided illustrates, right clicking on any
 given chat room allows the user to change their nick per room.  In other
 words, if I want you to see me as "Michael" in one room and "Mike" in
 another I can do this simply by right clicking in the tab that represents
 each of those rooms.

 Right clicking on a specific room's tab makes sense, as this is the scope
 by which I would want to make the change (as opposed to globally).

 I agree that it makes little sense to have a global option although I'm
 sure someone might like it.

 also doesn't make much sense to me to put a 'Change Nickname' menu item in
 the right-click menu that appears on the room tab, in the user list, in
 the history area, or in the input area as none of those places have
 anything to do with the 'you' that is in the room. It might make sense to
 put it under the Conversation->More menu but only slightly. Right-clicking
 yourself in the room occupant list is an option but not at all obvious or
 necessarily quick.
