 It is my belief that a groupless buddy list view is more confusing than it
 is helpful and that adding it will only increase the confusion we already
 see regarding groups (especially with the cross-protocol nature of them in
 pidgin). I am of the opinion that the default pidgin buddy list is not the
 correct place to implement new or innovative buddy list views, the default
 buddy list needs to work as close to how most people expect it to as
 possible other buddy lists can be created for fancier and/or more specific
 criteria. I fully support making it as easy as possible to write custom
 buddy list views for pidgin (even to the extent that I think we should
 extract the buddy list tree view code from the buddy list window code so
 that an alternate view can be dropped in place without needing to rewrite
 the rest of the buddy list window code).
