 Closing the source to pidgin would not in any way stop people from asking
 for features, it would in fact just cause us to have financial motive to
 acquiesce to the requests without the ability to say "no". That isn't
 exactly something we want to have happen. Not to mention that *there is an
 option* the option is the plugin in ticket #5296. The same plugin, I
 should add, that funpidgin uses. So the community can and has provided an
 option, and has almost since the beginning.
