 Although it seems to pop up at random for me, you can reproduce this 100%
 of the time.  Under "Preferences->Conversations->Default Formatting" set
 your font to courier and close it.  Open a new chat window, when you type
 your first letter it will resize the text area you are typing in.  It's
 just a few pixels, but it's still annoying.
