 I upgraded to pidgin 2.4.1 from 2.2.something and found that it is no
 longer possible to manually resize the text input field in the
 conversation window.
 Since I tend to ramble on for quite a bit sometimes, and always read my
 messages through before I send them, this change is quite annoying as it
 makes the field too small to be used effectively.
 A friend of mine pointed me to http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/5296 but
 I am unable to find that plugin in the plugin list in pidgin, even though
 that post seems to be a month old and version 2.4.1 of pidgin is brand
 new.
 My only option for the time being is to use funpidgin, but I look forward
 to returning to your program once this bug has been fixed.
