Comment:

 Your server is sending back an error instead of sending back your roster
 when pidgin asks for it (search your log for stanzas with an id attribute
 of purple81867466 to see the request/response, lines 113 and 130 for the
 record). If you look at the end of your log (lines 146-147) you will see
 pidgin sending the presence stanza requesting to join the chatroom and
 your server closing your connection on you (the closing </stream:stream>
 tag). I have no idea what is going on here but your server is acting very
 oddly. I would suggest you talk to your server admin about this.

 For the record, do other xmpp clients work correctly for your account on
 this server?
