 I'm using 2.4.1, and it also happens here. Basically, I think that the
 problem is Pidgin "intercepts" all "chat commands" (i.e., all messages
 starting with "/") and tries to interpret them rather than sending them
 out. Since PartyChat also relies on commands in this style to operate,
 it's impossible to use these commands with PartyChat. A workaround would
 be to issue those commands from a Gmail chat window, but that's a pain.

 Is there a config option to allow these commands to be passed on to the
 server? If not, I think there should be.
