 In that debug log pidgin sends out at least four ping stanzas and receives
 no reply to any of them. If pidgin doesn't receive a ping response (a
 response which is required by XMPP) then it assumes it has been
 disconnected and disconnects the account. It would seem to me that that is
 rather clearly what is happening here, what is not at all clear to me is
 why no responses are coming back. Notably it doesn't include any of the
 ping errors we were discussing and you were claiming you were seeing.
 pidgin 2.3.x did not include this ping functionality and as such will not
 disconnect you.
