 I don't know that this is a bug that can be fixed by Adium; the
 login.live.com server is the only server that causes this 'malfunction'
 (all the other msn servers work fine, and all SSL jabber connections do
 too). Also, this bug would have to be fixed at the SSL library level, and
 since that is provided by Apple that could be easier said than done (I'm
 not convinced it's actually a client library bug, I think Maiku suggested
 above that it was caused by the login.live.com server doing something
 bad). The error returned is errSSLFatalAlert which also cannot simply be
 ignored.

 I cannot see how anyone can fix it (suggestions welcome though)!
