 I tried to reproduce this, but it's tricky:
 * I IMed a buddy this morning asking them to type something, closed their
 IM tab, then started typing something in another tab. When the buddy's tab
 got created, the focus went... elsewhere. Typed alphanumeric characters
 weren't echoed in the new tab, nor in the one I had been typing in.
 * I tried to reproduce the scenario to see what tab Ctrl+W would close if
 pressed after focus got stolen. The problem was that for the next 5
 retries of the same typing scenario as above, the focus wasn't hijacked
 any more.

 I can only wildly guess at the cause... only the first IM in a while
 resulting in tab creation will steal focus? You need to be typing a
 character at around the exact moment when the psychic plugin instantiates
 the tab? (I typed at about 80wpm)
