 It eliminates nothing, we routinely also close tickets as duplicates and
 ask users to post their additional information to existing tickets. The
 question is just when each approach is useful. In the case of a ticket
 where the original posted has vanished suggesting that other people
 continue to post there is detrimental to the normal ticket workflow as,
 for just one example, the pending flag becomes useless. If the two of you
 don't want to help figure your issues out then by all means continue to
 question our reasoning here rather than simply taking a moment to create a
 new ticket with the information we requested. We can handle this either
 way, only one of which is actually likely to get anything fixed though.
