Comment:

 This is something that should be addressed at the support mailing list
 instead of being filed as a bug.

 The issue with QQ encoding is a GTK+ bug; 2.4.2 does not include a GTK+
 upgrade, so if you upgrade GTK+, you will have the problems that you
 experienced before.

 When a win32 Pidgin installer includes a GTK+ upgrade, it will be
 mentioned in the Win32 Changelog.
