 I tried it too and sometimes it works, sometimes not. It does not matter
 if you are in away or available state, the behavior is the same.
 Unfortunately could not find a pattern yet for URLs which do not work.
 I tested with Pidgin 2.3.1 under Linux (Suse 10.3).
