#5879: font settings in typing area

This is an old bug I probably reported back in the GAIM days.
[[BR]]
when typing something with custom formatting, pidgin remembers the font
settings last used and uses those same settings for subsequent messages.
[[BR]]
The problem is that the font settings that are remembered are those where
the cursor was in the text when the message was sent. Assuming one types
some text and then changes some of the formatting, the behaviour will be
inconsistent.
[[BR]]
Scenario : type something. make bold a word somewhere inside the text.
keep cursor on bolded word. send message.
next message will type in bold.
[[BR]]
Scenario : type something. make bold a word somewhere inside the text.
move cursor to an unbolded word. send message.
next message will type in normal (not bold) text.
[[BR]]
I've never seen any program to behave this way.
Proper behaviour would be one of the following :
[[BR]]
- if font settings changes are to be retained between messages, then the
last character's font setting should be the one remembered. It is the most
consistent and expected behaviour.
[[BR]]
- or, formatting should be reset to the default after sending each
message.
