Comment:

 MSN personal message support will happen when we activate our MSNP14
 protocol plugin.  This is a duplicate of several existing tickets.

 As for Yahoo status messages, that should have been a separate ticket, but
 I can confirm that setting the "away" status in pidgin with a status
 message has the desired effect on Yahoo, as long as you use "away" and not
 "extended away".
