 A very frequent comment from my friends, whom I recommend Pidgin to use,
 is:
 "But Pidgin does not support Jabber".
 Everytime I have to explain that XMPP is another word for Jabber.

 Not so long ago my brother, who was using Pidgin for more a year, after
 system reinstall (and Pidgin update) said:
 "Pidgin does not support Jabber any more, could you please recommend me
 another IM?"

 I don't know about your countries, but in my country (Czech Republic),
 almost noone knows what XMPP means. Only a few developers. 99% common
 Jabber users never heard of it. Big web portals, which sometimes write
 about Jabber, never mentions XMPP, only Jabber. (I'm not surprised. Jabber
 is a good word, easy to pronounce. XMPP is a horrible to remember and
 pronounce).

 Simply: Only developers know what XMPP means.

 You are losing MANY users because of that. I personaly know some of them.

 Now, what on earth is the problem that in the new account tab you can't
 rename XMPP to XMPP/Jabber? I simply can't understand it! Is your
 intention to have users, or to be absolutely correct, in spite of the fact
 that in my country (and some other as well for sure) no one knows what
 XMPP means? (And besides, there's nothing incorrect about XMPP/Jabber.)

 People, just be reasonable. Jabber will never stop being Jabber. Just try
 google results. 25:1 for Jabber:XMPP. XMPP is a monstrous name and people
 (at least in some countries) will never use it, because it breaks their
 tongue. It will be simply Jabber, all the time. If you intend to have
 user-friendly IM (and I like Pidgin because it is very user-friendly), you
 can't fight the ordinary users. This is no holy war over some brand. Let
 Pidgin be for everyone, not only for insightful developers.

 Please rename XMPP to XMPP/Jabber in the new account tab. This minor
 change is a much larger change in amount of Pidgin users.
