 In gnumeric, there is a "Live assistance" menu item which should open an
 irc window for the appropriate channel. When  purple-url-handler is the
 default irc handler, things work only if an account already exists and has
 been defined for the right server (irc.gimp.net).
 When no irc account is defined in pidgin, things fail silently (actually
 there is a "no matching account" message and some dbus warnings about
 deprecated things in .xsession-errors.
 When I try to define two accounts, seems that the first is always used,
 which will not be the correct server.
 Clearly, the situation is not usable by the average user.

 Would it be possible that the correct server is always used, and when no
 account exists, to pop up a create account dialog instead of failing?
