 I can confirm this bug.
 It happen to me as well. All my blocked contacts where unblock (doesn't
 matter if I had them in my contact list or not). I've been receiving chats
 from people I blocked and then I realize about all the mass that pidgin
 2.5.2 made!
 I am using Ubuntu intrepid ibex and Pidgin 2.5.2 from official repos.
 I had to log into windows live messenger to block aaaaaalll contacts one
 by one. (from privacy options)

 Pidgin unlock all my contacts. ALL OF THEM.

 Please fix this bug it is very very critical.
