Comment:

 Then this sounds to me (someone who knows approximately nothing about
 gstreamer) like a problem in gstreamer or the gstreamer pulseaudio stuff.
 Since I'm pretty sure pidgin doesn't know anything about how gstreamer is
 configured, which means that if gst->alsa->pa doesn't leak but gst->pa
 does something beyond our control is busted.
