 after an informal survey of several users, i found that a number of people
 have their buddy list set at 150px wide.  generally these people have
 "show buddy details" turned off along with other buddy list options- it's
 a minimalist view.

 the problem for these users is that the dropdown menus at the top of the
 list take up almost 200px.  the result is the "help" menu is obscured.

 this patch solves this problem by folding the "help" menu into the bottom
 of the "tools" menu.  i think this is reasonable- some apps like chrome do
 this without causing any serious complaints.

 to add to menu cleaniness, i shrank the tools menu a bit to make it less
 intimidating.  i moved buddy pounces to the "buddy" menu, which sounds
 pretty logical.

 i also deleted the room list option.  the room list is still available in
 the "join chat" menu.  it seems like a more natural flow for the room list
 option.

 feel free to contest any of these decisions.  moving the help menu is the
 most important for usability, the other two aren't as pressing.
