 There is no system for ''voting'' about bug priorities. Your comments were
 received and those curious and willing to help will take them into
 account.

 There's no answer because the maintainer of the gg protocol has not been
 active for a little while. That said, there's very few people who
 contribute directly to libpurple that use or have any knowledge whatsoever
 of the workings of gg.

 That being said, the best way you can help would be to submit a patch. The
 second best way: be patient.
