Comment:

 The Windows maximum path length is 260 chars (`C:\` + `<256 char path>` +
 `NULL`).
 The log path for that buddy is 261 characters.

 A workaround for this would be to use a shorter path than the default
 `C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\.purple` for the
 settings directory.  See the [wiki:"Using
 Pidgin#Whereismy.purpledirectory" FAQ] for how to override this.
