Old description:

 If one of my saved status messages was the following message

 To reproduce set a status message with newlines and perform 2
 close/restart cycles (just pidgin not your OS) and you will see that your
 status message no longer has newlines.

 I know how to put in new lines that is not the issue. The bug I am
 reporting is that the newline disappears after you close and restart
 pidgin twice in a row without changing your saved status message. Try
 saving a status message with multiple newlines and if you do a
 close/restart cycle twice without changing your status all your newlines
 will be gone.
