 Problem returned, hence re-opening in new ticket:

 After YIM tries to connect for several minutes, it gives the following
 error:

 Could not establish a connection with the server: Error resolving
 scs.msg.yahoo.com: Name or service not known

 This has happened since the last Pidgin update.
 Sporadically it will connect, but it is only sporadically that a
 connection is made and it fails to connect 99 out of 100 times.
