 A fix is going to be dependent on your network configuration - the problem
 is probably that one or more of the DNS servers your machine is configured
 to use is misbehaving.

 The DNS configuration may also be on your router, not your machine.

 Running `nslookup scs.msg.yahoo.com` from a terminal will probably fail
 with the same consistency that pidgin fails to connect.
