 I wanted to invite a friend back into a chat when he logged back in today
 by setting a buddy pounce and i found that i could not.  im not sure of
 the practicality of this, or, for that matter, the demand, but it would be
 nice to have some sort of action.

 or at least some sort of workaround using the "run a command" box or the
 like?
