 starting pidgin the buddy list gets initialized correctly e.g. the status
 displayed in the buddy list corresponds to the real status of the users
 (online/offline).

 the problem is that users, which change their status (go online/offline)
 while my own pidgin is running are not getting updated in the buddy list
 (their status).

 so some users, which were online at startup go offline and you can't talk
 to them though they are flagged online. Vice versa online users are
 displayed offline which leads to the special delight to chat with zombie-
 offline-users.
