 first please read this: http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/6900
 when we develop OpenQ, we will compile it on many different platforms,
 including Gentoo, Ubuntu, Windows on X86, Debian on PowerPC. there were a
 few revisions of OpenQ in development which did encountered the NULL
 problems but these versions were just for our internal tests. We found
 that GTK+-2.12.8-Rev-a in Pidgin 2.5.x on Windows will cause the NULL
 problem as I've mentioned in
 http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/6900#comment:4.

 Pidgin 2.5.2 will be released soon, and please try it instead.
