 while using pidgin 2.5.1 I moved many contacts between groups...
 I started getting sync issues with msn protocol, then i updated to version
 2.5.2 and the sync issues didn't go away.

 I got advice from #pidgin at irc.freenode.net that i should try renaming the
 blist.xml file.

 After that no more sync issues and all those people, whom I had sync
 issues with are no longer in my buddy list.

 When I log onto hotmail.com and look around in contacts they are all in
 the correct places, but pidgin doesn't show them.
