 Guys, why do you keep closing these encoding related bugs??? Pidgin is
 almost useless now, since I CAN'T talk to most of my russian-speaking
 friends (they use different ICQ clients on ther ends, most often qip). All
 I see from them is garbage latin letters.

 This been going on for a LOONG time, right after I upgraded to 2.4.0+ I
 think. Now I'm using 2.5.2, with the very same problem.
