 The memory growth seems to be exponential. The amount above 16Mbytes grows
 about 5% per wallpaper change so some memory structure might be copied
 erraneously. Also Pidgin consumes much CPU resources during wallpaper
 change (2secs when at 50Mbytes).
 Tried the Emesene client which also seems to use GTK, possibly with
 another theme, but it does not seem to have the same problem.
