Comment:

 We provide Fedora and CentOS RPMs (for older Fedora and CentOS releases
 only, you will notice) because one of the developers builds them. We do
 not have any developers building for Ubuntu/Debian/SUSE/Mandriva/etc. and
 as such do not offer such downloads.

 We will not except third-party created packages as we cannot know what the
 creator did with them. Likewise we will not recommend third-party packing
 sites (like getdeb.net) because they have in general had a history of
 accepting flat out broken packages and of having little to no quality
 control.

 The reason people need to get unofficial packages for Ubuntu is because
 the Ubuntu project does not make updating software for older releases a
 priority, this is something I consider deeply flawed in a distribution
 which claims to target itself to users but is something which most users
 seem not to care much about.
